Is the Starlight Skating Rink Open?

The Starlight Skating Rink opens on November 8, 2025. Bring your own skates, or rent a pair from the concession for a fee (available on select days).

Where does the display start?

The displays will start on St. Alice Street and go to the Public Boat Launch Area. Directional signage will encourage visitors to maintain the flow of traffic by going west to east along the paved promenade in front of the displays and looping back, east to west on the gravel path behind the displays.

What is the best time of day to go see the Lights?

The lights will turn on at dusk each day and turn off at 11 pm. Dusk at this time of year is typically between 5:00–5:30 pm.

When is the Lighting Ceremony?

The Lighting Ceremony will be on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Where are the washrooms? 

Public washrooms are located at the Boat Launch Parking Lot and by the Civic Centre Plaza. 
Hours: Boat Launch: washrooms are open during operating hours. Please see the Village of Harrison Hot Springs website for more details. The Civic Centre Plaza: washrooms are open until 5:00 pm, except during special events, when the washrooms will be open until 8:00 pm.

Is there live entertainment? 

Yes, there will be live entertainment. Please check the Lighting Ceremony & Festive Nights Schedules for details.

Are the lights and displays easy to access?

Yes. The walkways along the beach are paved and flat and there are 5 wheelchair ramps that are easily accessible to those with mobility issues.

Can we bring our dog?

Dogs on leash are welcome on all of Harrison’s trails and beach walkways. For your convenience, dog waste bags and receptacles are available throughout the Village and along the beach walkway.

Where is the Plaza?

The Plaza is a paved, open air gathering place that is located at the end of Hot Springs Road where it meets Esplanade Avenue at the beach.

What about parking?

Parking in the Village of Harrison Hot Springs is free from September 15 to May 15. Larger vehicles and RVs can use the overflow parking lot located at the corner of Hot Springs Road and Miami River Drive, only 340 meters from the Plaza.

The Village of Harrison Hot Springs has five regular public charging stations for electric vehicles.

What days can I go see the Lights by the Lake?

The light displays will be lit from dusk to 11:00 pm, 7 days a week, from November 22, 2025, to Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Can we just drive around and see the lights?

There are many lights throughout Harrison that can be seen from your vehicle, however, to experience the full effect of the Lights by the Lake displays that incorporate motion, being on the beach walkway provides a vantage point that is impossible to achieve from a vehicle.
