trip length: 3-4 days
Day 1: Arrive in Harrison in the early afternoon. While many of the accommodations have a 4pm check in you can use the early afternoon to get to know our Village. Stop in at the Visitor center and pick up our Hiking and Adventure Guide which gives you a detailed description of our Heritage walk. Once checked in, start your getaway by following our Heritage Walk it gives you the historical highlights of the Village and is a nice way to slow down to Village speed.
Day 2: Step back in time. First drive out to Kilby Historic Site. This amazing historical site was once a general store and farm. Today all has been preserved and the site includes a museum, authentic general store from the turn of the century and working farm where you can visit and feed the animals. Enjoy lunch in their old style cafe. After lunch, head back to Agassiz and visit the Agassiz Harrison Museum located within an old Railway station. This musuem features old railroad memorabilia, wonderful displays and even a rail car.
Day 3: Cultural Experiences. After breakfast, explore the Harrison River valley with Harrison Eco Tour's Sasquatch Interpretive Tour. This tour can be either either by jet-boat or by kayak; if you're feeling adventurous. This tour will take you along the mighty Harrison river to see ancient petroglyths and a sunken steamship. Lunch will be included on Sts'Ailes beach where you will recieve a traditional Sts'Ailes welcome. After your day on the water, stop into our Visitor Centre and Sasquatch Museum and learn about the history of the Sasquatch in Harrison Hot Springs. Finish with dinner at the historic Rowena's Inn and Clubhouse Restaurant.
Day 4: After breakfast you can either head home or if you are ready for more history head over to Hope and Yale. The Hope visitor center has an interesting museum and the Yale Historic site has wonderful grounds and inlcudes the St. John the Divine Church and the 1870′s ‘Creighton House’ Museum and artifacts .
