Day 1: Arrival day means getting to your hotel, motel, cottage or campground and getting organized. This always takes a little more time with families. Important to know that many accommodations in Harrison have a 3 or 4 pm check-in. After checking in your first afternoon should be spent orientating yourself with a walk around the Village and along the lakeshore. Take it easy, enjoy the view then try out one of our many family friendly restaurants.
Day 2: Water fun day. No trip to Harrison is complete without a day spent on the beach or at one of our great water parks. The lagoon offers a wonderful beach and warmer water but for the brave at heart the lake is fun and refreshing. Looking for more excitement? Try Harrison's own version of "Wipeout" at Harrison floating water park or hop in the car for 15 minutes to Bridal Falls Water Slides.
Day 3: Hicks Lake outdoor adventure day. A 15 minute drive from Harrison Hicks lake is the perfect place for families. Do the walk around the lake it takes about an hour. At the halfway point on the south end of the lake there is a secluded beach that is perfect for picnics and swimming. Head back to the day park area and rent a canoe, or play on the large boulders that make up part of the shore. It's a great place to use up some energy.
Day 4: Kilby Historic Site a day playing in history. Kilby historic site is the perfect history lesson for kids. It captures the living history of a family farm and general store. With museum, old general store and working farm it's a great place for kids who want to interact and feed the animals on the farm while learning about the life in the country. On the way back to Harrison stop at the Agassiz Harrison Museum, this old railway station now holds great exhibits of the old railway days and life in and around Agassiz.
Day 5: Hope and the Othello Tunnels. Another great day trip Hope offers lots to see and do. The Chain Saw carving capital of BC there is an amazing chain saw carving on nearly every corner. Once you have seen them all head over to the Othello Tunnels for one of the most impressive walks in the Valley. This walk leads you through an old railway route that went through mountains beside the Coquihalla river, breathtaking views. Want more excitement drive a little further and take in Hells Gate this amazing site has to be seen to be appreciated as an air tram takes you over the raging Fraser River.
