heritage tour - this wonderful itinerary takes you back in time sharing the rich history of our region

trip length: 2 -3 days

Day 1:  Arrive in Harrison in the early afternoon.  While many of the accommodations have a 4pm check in you can use the early afternoon to get to know our Village.  Stop in at the Visitor center and pick up our Ticket to Explore brochure which give you a detailed description of our Heritage walk.  Once checked in, start your getaway by following our Heritage Walk it gives you the historical highlights of the Village and is a nice way to slow down to Village speed.  

Day 2:  Step back in time day.  Today you will step back in time.  First drive out to Kilby Historic Site.  This amazing historical site was once a general store and farm.  Today all has been preserved and the site includes a museum, authentic general store from the turn of the century and working farm where you can visit and feed the animals. Enjoy a great lunchin their old style cafe.  After lunch head back to Agassiz and visit the Agassiz Harrison Museum located in an old Railway station.  Old railroad memorabilia, wonderful displays and even a rail car. 

Day 3: After breakfast you can either head home or if you are ready for more history head over to Hope and Yale.  The Hope visitor center has an interesting museum and the Yale Historic site has wonderful grounds and inlcudes the St. John the Divine Church and the 1870′s ‘Creighton House’ Museum and artifacts .
